The town of Sovata (Mures county) has an international reputation as a health resort and SPA. The famous lakes contain large quantities of salts and other minerals used in a whole variety of medical treatments.  The well known Danubius Hotel, in the upper part of the town near the lakes, has extensive pools and treatment rooms, and is also a popular venue for conferences and tour operators.

Sovata is on a new main road to Tirgu-Mures, which has an international airport, and is about one hours driving time, or less than three hours to the City of Cluj-Napoca.
